Still lots of activities on the final day of Festival 2018, early Sunday morning risers can take part in the Junior Fishing Competition or try some canoeing with the Moy Canoe Club.
There will be a special Family mass at 11:30am in St. Tiernan’s Church to celebrate our Parish community as a fmaily of families in preparation for the World Meeting Of Families, all families are invited to this special mass.
Later in the afternoon the action moves to Abbeytown/Abbeyview where the annual Sports & BBQ takes place hosted by the Abbeytown/Abbeyview Resident’s Association, Crossmolina Community Games & Crossmolina AFC. It’s a FAMILY FUN DAY with bouncy castles, games, fun activities, novelty races etc. Murray’s Fun Fair will be open at the Car Park from 4pm.
The “Singing Pubs 2018” Grand Final closes the festival as the eight singers compete for a prize of €1000 and recording opportunity with sponsors Dwane Recording Studios. The final takes place in O’Malleys Bar & Grill with MC Benen Tierney and the judges on the night are Ireland’s Eurovision singer 2003, Mickey Joe Harte along with Eunice Moran from Mid West Radio and Declan Carroll, musician & singer from Tuam, Co. Galway with music & dancing to Wavelength.
It all began in early April when the heats started and it all comes down to the Grand Final. The winner will receive €1000 plus an opportunity to record at David Dwane Recording Studios. Thank you to everyone that took part over the past 3 months and to all of the pubs that hosted a heat : Christy’s, Hiney’s, Maughan’s, The Thatch, O’Malley’s & Cawley’s and to everyone that supported the singers throughout the heats.
A great night is in store to wrap up the Homecoming Festival 2018 with music and dancing to Wavelength.
